My name is Ava McArtor, and I am a junior at Pepperdine University studying Advertising. I currently live in Malibu, California, and grew up in Texas. My background is deeply rooted in wellness, creativity, and media, which strongly influences both my academic work and personal interests. Living in Malibu has further shaped my lifestyle, as wellness, movement, and balance are integral parts of the local culture.
The purpose of this blog is to share and document the media content I have created for COM 205, with a specific focus on wellness. This space will feature projects that explore physical, mental, and emotional well-being through a media and communication lens. The blog serves as both a creative outlet and a portfolio, allowing me to reflect on how wellness is represented, communicated, and experienced in everyday life.
In addition to being a student, I am a certified Pilates instructor and currently teach classes. Movement and body awareness are central to my daily life, and teaching has strengthened my passion for helping others feel more connected to their bodies. I am also interested in holistic health, mindful routines, beauty rituals, content creation, and spending time outdoors, especially by the ocean.
My long-term goal is to start my own brand in the wellness and beauty space. I am interested in creating products and media that promote balance, self-care, and intentional living, while blending creativity with purpose. This blog represents an early step in building that vision and refining my voice within the wellness industry.
